Bingaman Hess Welcomes Attorney Gary R. Swavely, Jr.

Gary R. Swavely, Jr. is of counsel to the firm. Born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania,

Mr. Swavely is a lifelong resident of Berks County. Gary received his Bachelor of Science

Degree in Business Administration from Albright College in 1986 and his Juris Doctor

Degree from Widener University School of Law in 1989.


Mr. Swavely was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in

1989 and subsequently before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of

Pennsylvania in 2001. He is a member of the Berks County Bar Association and

the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also a member of the Family Law Section of

the Pennsylvania Bar Association.


Mr. Swavely has over 35 years of experience and maintains a general practice of law

with extensive experience civil and criminal cases, including family law, divorce,

property division, child custody, child support, spousal support and alimony, pre-nuptial

agreements, and adoption, estate planning and administration, general civil litigation,

personal injury and wrongful death, real estate, business formation, commercial

litigation, criminal defense, landlord tenant matters, and zoning , land use and municipal

law.


Mr. Swavely has also obtained noteworthy results in personal injury and wrongful death

cases. He obtained a 1.35 million settlement on behalf of the estate of a man who was

tragically killed in a tractor-trailer accident.


Mr. Swavely is well-respected attorney as evidenced by his nomination as a Reading
